The 6 wishes of communicators
Data from Ragan’s 2024 Communications Benchmark Report shows communicators looking to continue to improve their strategic standing.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
And so it goes when communicators think about their wish list. Each year as part of Ragan’s Communications Benchmark Report, we ask communicators to tell us in their own words the one change they’d like to make to their communications strategy.
The 2024 report, the sixth edition of this signature research project conducted for members of Ragan’s Communications Leadership Council, is based on a survey of nearly 1,000 communicators worldwide.
Analysis of responses reveals some perennial desires. Communicators could use more resources and staff, better executive support and improved technology. But overall, the theme that carries through all their wishes is that they want communications to be more embedded in organizations’ strategic groundwork.
Here are communicators’ six wishes for 2024:
Respondents expressed a desire for more involvement in strategic planning, earlier access to information, increased transparency and recognition of communications as a strategic partner.
