An Emmy award-winning journalist with more than two decades of media, integrated marketing, public relations, and crisis communications expertise, Stephanie (Steph) Johnson
currently serves as Chief Communications & Culture Officer at the Kulur Group, a diverse-owned challenger brand agency.
Prior to her role at Kulur Group, Steph served as Senior Vice President of Enterprise Communications at the American Cancer Society (ACS), where she helped to reimagine ACS’s internal and external communications strategic blueprint, executive thought leadership platform, and crisis/issues management response protocols. Her efforts swiftly helped to re-conceptualize the nation's largest voluntary health organization’s ability to deliver compelling stories and messages aimed at advancing ACS's vision to end cancer as we know it, for everyone. Prior to her role at ACS, Steph served as Vice President and Communications Strategist for Hotwire Global, where she oversaw diverse integrated communications and marketing teams for some of the world’s leading tech brands.
Before branching out as a brand champion and thought leader, Steph Johnson spent nearly a decade as Vice President of Communications & Product Development at the American Medical Association (AMA). Prior to her role at the AMA, Steph was Vice President of Public Affairs at Advocate Aurora Health. As a journalist for 7+ years, Steph got her start in television working for ABC News Good Morning America, and World News Tonight with Peter Jennings. She has also served as a freelance producer for the Chicago Bureaus of ABC & NBC News, and as a TV news anchor for 16 WAPT News, an ABC News Affiliate. Steph graduated Summa Com Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Speech and Dramatic Arts.
