Director, U.S. Enterprise Communications - McDonald’s

Pam Goldstein (Selman) is the Director of U.S. Enterprise Communications at McDonald’s. In this role, she leads McDonald’s global approach to crisis response and works closely with teams across the business to protect the brand, including as an on-the-record media spokesperson. Pam is a crisis communications expert who has been on the frontlines of some of the largest and most complex corporate issues around the globe. She was named to PR Week's 40 Under 40 in 2021 and to PR News Top Women list in 2024.

Prior to joining McDonald's, Pam worked in Edelman’s Crisis & Risk Management practice, where she partnered with organizations across industries to navigate corporate and reputation issues. She has counseled C-Suite executives through material events, including executive transitions, product quality issues, litigation, workplace violence / accidents and data security & privacy events. Pam served as the global crisis lead for response efforts around a $5B recall, which invited intense government scrutiny & demanded multi-faceted stakeholder engagement. Through the development of a robust corporate reputation campaign, more than 90 percent of impacted customers reported maintaining brand loyalty. Pam also supported the corporate reputation campaign for one of the world’s largest aerospace companies, executing against multiple work streams to influence stakeholder perceptions & rebuild trust against various milestones amid one of the most severe crises in the company’s history. As a co-lead for Edelman’s Data Security & Privacy Group, Pam spearheaded response efforts for two of the largest data security incidents on record, which redefined industries & regulations, including support for executive testimony before Congress. Pam helped organizations mitigate risk through proactive vulnerability assessments, crisis planning programs, in-depth scenario plan development, and media training and crisis simulation exercises for leadership teams.

Prior to joining Edelman, Pam worked at the White House in the Office of Presidential Personnel, where she assisted in the presidential appointment and nomination process. Pam managed candidate vetting efforts and public records research for appointments by President Barack Obama to positions in the Departments of Justice, Labor, Education and Health & Human Services.

Pam chairs the Walk to End Lupus Now: Chicago for the Lupus Foundation of America and previously oversaw the University of Wisconsin’s Chicago Alumni Association Scholarship Program. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with honors in strategic communications and political science and returns to Madison whenever possible.
