Michael Ricci

Mike Ricci is a partner at Seven Letter, a strategic communications in Washington, DC firm focused on bipartisan public affairs, crisis management, and corporate engagement. A New Yorker born and raised, Mike moved to Washington in 2004 after graduating from Columbia University to lead a life of public service. He spent more than 13 years on Capitol Hill with House Republicans, serving as chief speechwriter and deputy director of communications for Speaker John Boehner and as director of communications for Speaker Paul Ryan. In 2019, he was appointed by Maryland Governor Larry Hogan as director of communications. In Annapolis, he led the state’s public relations response to the COVID-19 pandemic, oversaw its major tourism and marketing campaigns, and managed more than 120 public information officers across all agencies of government. In 2022, the Maryland Daily Record named Mike an Influential Marylander. Mike is an adjunct lecturer at Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy, where he is currently teaching a course on the science of crisis communications.
