Kara Hendrick serves as the Associate Director of Employer Branding & Employee Engagement at Chewy.com. In this role, she spearheads enterprise-wide employer branding and corporate employee engagement initiatives, crafting internal and external activations that position Chewy as an employer of choice and drive engagement. Since joining the company in 2019, Kara has been instrumental in building Chewy's award-winning employer branding program. Under her leadership, her teams have driven talent attraction, retention, and a thriving company culture through innovative #LifeAtChewy campaigns and robust community-building efforts.
With a deep passion for fostering vibrant workplace cultures through people-centric communications, Kara has earned a number of professional honors, including Chewy’s “Women Who Inspire” award, Built In’s “Employer Branding Team Champions” recognition, and Comparably’s distinction as an "Inspiring Employer Brand Leader of the Northeast."
Prior to Chewy, Kara served as the Head of Global Brand and Digital Strategy for Velcro Companies, where she led transformative global digital marketing strategies across the U.S., EMEA, LATAM, and APAC regions. Her leadership played a pivotal role in strengthening the iconic VELCRO® brand, advancing strategic communications, and forging meaningful connections with both consumers and employees.
Kara holds an MBA in Global Strategic Management from Babson College and is a passionate advocate for economic development and job creation, serving as a member of the Town of Hull Economic Development Council. Her leadership journey includes being a 2021 Google Rare Leadership Academy delegate, a 2020 Adweek Executive Mentee, a Real Time Academy of Short Form Arts & Sciences inductee, and the recipient of Social Media Today’s “Mover and Shaker” award.
