
Jenina Nuñez
Chief of Staff, Intercontinental - AbbVie
Jenina Nuñez is a marketing communications professional with more than fifteen years’ experience in executive, internal and external communications. Since October 2023 she has been Chief of Staff, Intercontinental at AbbVie, a leading pharmaceutical company. She currently reports to AbbVie’s senior executive responsible for leading commercial operations in the company’s Intercontinental Area, inclusive of more than 40+ countries. In her role, she is responsible for shaping and articulating the Area’s vision and roadmap. She also manages and drives Area governance, ensuring alignment on key business decisions. Joining the company in November 2020, she started as a member of the International Public Affairs team, driving data and launch communications and patient education initiatives for four indications in dermatology and gastroenterology. Prior to joining AbbVie, Jenina has worked in communications for several large global and national organizations, including McDonald’s Corporation and Kemper Corporation, among others.
Jenina has been recognized as a Young Hispanic Corporate Achiever by the Hispanic Association of Corporate Responsibility (HACR), and has spoken at various conferences such as Nielsen, Ragan Communications, SXSW and Bulldog Reporter. Jenina earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology with honors from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut and her master’s degree in Social Science from the University of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. A proud alum of these institutions and former New Yorker, Jenina serves on several alumni committees and attends local events as often as possible. She enjoys art, reading, writing, working out and has studied photography. She also loves to explore the food scene in Chicagoland as often as possible.
