Emily Gustafson
Vice president for digital strategy - American Hospital Association
Emily Gustafson is the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Vice President of Digital Strategy where she leads and executes the strategic direction for the association’s digital assets and footprint. Managing AHA’s integrated digital communications strategy, she enables the AHA to use digital, including social, video, web and audio content, to promote and communicate its positions. Emily also helps lead the AHA’s strategic initiative directed to educate the public about the changing face of hospitals and health systems and spotlights hospitals’ vital contributions to the community through digital means. Through this work, she helps create innovative initiatives to support AHA’s work and engage members and the public. Prior to joining the AHA, Emily worked at the National Health Council (NHC), a nonprofit representing leading patient advocacy organizations. At the NHC, Emily was instrumental in concept design and building of a web research database that served over 100,000 researchers and health funders. Emily graduated from James Madison University with a B.A. in political science.
