Head of Enterprise Communications & Employer Brand - Wells Fargo

Deborah Hyman is senior vice president and head of Enterprise Communications & Employer Brand for Wells Fargo. Deborah serves on the Wells Fargo Public Affairs and Communications & Integrated Marketing leadership teams.

Based in Washington, D.C., Deborah leads a team of more than one hundred professionals who develop and manage enterprise and HR communications, digital workplace experience, video services, and employer branding for the company’s 225,000 employees. The team also provides dedicated support for the Chief Human Resources Officer and the HR leadership team.

A strategic and collaborative leader with deep experience in communications strategy, employee engagement, change management, recruitment marketing and business transformation, Deborah plays a key role in the evolution of Wells Fargo’s communications that is helping redefine the company’s culture, voice, and narrative.

Before taking on her current role in 2021, Deborah led internal and executive communications for the Global Technology Organization and Human Resources at MetLife in New York City. Prior to that, she served in communication leadership roles at Northrop Grumman, the National Council on Compensation Insurance, Verizon, Freddie Mac, and Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield. Deborah began her career as a reporter at the Daily Press in Hampton, VA and as a public affairs officer at Jefferson Lab, a Department of Energy nuclear physics research facility in Newport News, VA.

Deborah earned her master’s degree in communications from American University and a bachelor’s degree in mass media arts from Hampton University. She is the president emeritus and strategic advisor to the National Black Public Relations Society and is an active member of Chief, Page Up, Public Relations Society of America, and ColorComm. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Diversity Action Alliance and The McCloud Cares Foundation.

Deborah has been recognized for her contributions to the industry and her commitment to excellence. In 2016, she was honored as one of South Florida’s Most Powerful and Influential Professionals in Business and Industry. She received the Outstanding Service to the Industry award from Ragan Communications and PR Daily in 2023, and in 2024, she was honored with the Distinguished Communicator and GEM award by the Diversity Action Alliance.
