Japan’s Olympic organizers reveal new logo for Tokyo 2020
After the first design, unveiled in July 2015, was met with plagiarism allegations, the committee took to crowdsourcing to stop the wave of negative PR and come up with a new symbol.
There’s now a symbol to go with 2020’s Olympic Winter Games.
On Monday, organizers for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games unveiled the event’s new logo, called “Harmonized Checkered Emblems.”

In a press release, Tokyo’s Olympic organizers said that the design captures the spirit of Japan along with Tokyo’s vision for the games:
