Buy-in from leadership is key when communicators spearhead AI initiatives.  

A lack of time, resources and hesitation around another new technology can get in the way. 

“I think the initial main challenge was just raising awareness among the rest of my team and the rest of the institution about the capabilities and possibilities that AI was presenting,” said Brian Piper, director of content strategy and assessment at University of Rochester, in a panel at Ragan’s Employee Communications 101 Virtual Conference, moderated by Ragan Reporter and Conference Producer Isis Simpson-Mersha. 

The lineup also included David Murray, manager of social media strategy at Blue Cross Blue Sheild of Michigan, and Rebecca Simons, external communications manager at Cisco.
