By the Numbers: Top comms strategies to keep you sane through election season

In collaboration with The Conference Board, Ragan surveyed communicators about their plans and concerns in the runup to November’s election.

Even though Election Day is months from now, this year’s political storm is already thunderous. Though many don’t want to think about the interpersonal conflict and division that promise to characterize this election cycle, communicators must still be prepared to discuss it.

It’s certainly not an easy time to be a communicator, but with the right preparation, you can bolster your department and protect your organization through the challenges you’re likely to face between now and November.

Alongside The Conference Board, Ragan co-created a survey of 103 professionals that explores how vigilant organizations plan to approach this year’s electoral cycle from a comms perspective. To examine the full report, click here.

As part of the report’s rollout, earlier this week we held a webinar in conjunction with The Conference Board to discuss the results. Jano Cabrera, chief communications officer at General Mills, and Judy Rader, senior vice president of corporate affairs and chief communications officer at Constellation joined Ragan editor-in-chief Justin Joffe and moderator Denise Dahlhoff to discuss the top strategies and takeaways that communicators should look ahead of the election.
