ADP launches a participant personalized journey campaign focusing itself as a retirement ally
ADP Retirement Services is improving overall retirement plan health and participant outcomes by leveraging technology, interactive content and a data-driven personalized experience to increase retirement awareness, enrollment and overall engagement during a participant’s retirement journey. For their efforts, ADP has earned a spot in Ragan’s Workplace Wellness Hot List Awards in the Financial Wellness & Education Programs category.
For over 70 years, ADP has shaped how people work. The company sees itself as less of a retirement plan provider and more as a retirement ally. The organization offers a wide range of tailored qualified and nonqualified plan choices leveraging data and advanced technology to help drive plan success and manage administrative risk through seamless connections, personalized insights and education, flexibility in plan design and security ingrained in its solutions.
ADP uses demographic and employee data to create automated and personalized campaigns designed to encourage employees to save for the future. Each journey consists of multiple emails, and if the desired action is not taken, the next email in the journey is sent. If the participant does not act after the last email is sent, there is a four-month break before the participant is eligible for the next journey.
The personalized campaigns are divided into the following five participation types:
ADP’s multi-touch personalized journey campaign is leveraged across its 100K+ plans as it continuously learns from internal data and metrics to help improve clients’ participants’ retirement financial outcomes. Through ongoing monitoring of results, the company has been able to build this program to increase education and savings across the various target audiences outlined above.
Results around education and increased changes for this campaign include, but aren’t limited to:

Congratulations to the ADP team and for being a retirement ally.
Aduro gives power back to employees when it comes to health and well-being
Employee wellness and health company Aduro’s programs have helped workers lose weight and take back control of their health. This work earned Aduro a spot on the Ragan’s Workplace Wellness Hot List.
Employee wellness company Aduro is about human performance — not just professional performance. The company argues that the basic needs of a human being (food, water, shelter, rest and health) are equally as important as the need to feel safe, to socialize and to grow.
“All of these needs are part of being human,” Aduro writes. “Recognizing these needs is the first step toward creating a more human workplace. Technology was once seen as what pushed businesses forward, but as adopting new technologies has become more standard practice, it can hold you back. Getting back to the basics of recognizing what makes us all human is what makes businesses stand out today.”
The company’s software aims to “reignite humanity in the workplace” by engaging workers through a branded app in which Aduro offers health coaching and mental health resources alongside six holistic well-being areas:
Health system Mercy Health implemented Aduro’s Human Performance program for its health care providers and saw meaningful results.
Stacy Jones, a Mercy Health nurse and Human Performance coaching participant, realized that in order to take better care of her patients and her colleagues, she needed to prioritize her own health and well-being.
“When I started working with my Human Performance coach, I was able to realize it’s important to take care of yourself so you can take care of others,” she says.
Amy Stewart, the manager of a sleep disorder center with Mercy Health, says she was unhealthy before starting the program — but it inspired her to chase a meaningful goal.
“I never knew I could have it in me to run a half marathon,” she says. “I signed up for that as a goal, to push myself. It might seem like it’s not possible, but you have to become okay with being uncomfortable.”
Congratulations to Aduro for their win.

Limeade’s proprietary research, culture of care engages and motivates employees
Limeade’s employee wellness program helped inspire State of Washington employees to get healthier and learn about caring for their bodies. Science and care make up the employee experience for companies that use the wellness company Limeade. This combination found them a spot on Ragan’s Workplace Hot List.
For the team at employee wellness company Limeade, science is everything. The organization’s integrated approach to employee well-being drives employee participation and results in happier workers. Through the Limeade Institute, Limeade conducts its own research into what makes a great employee experience.
“The Institute conducts research and shares insight on the science behind creating great employee experiences,” the Limeade website says. “The team’s findings support Limeade solutions and drive innovations like the unique Limeade Well-Being Assessment, the Limeade Results Model, and our unique approach to organizational support.”
The Limeade model posits that if companies care for their employees, employees can take better care of themselves and their colleagues, which leads to positive business outcomes.
Organizations like Bosch, Covenant Health and Iowa State University trust Limeade to help their employees take better care of themselves through programs, which include raising awareness about employee benefits, training managers on understanding well-being support resources, and providing actionable insights.
When the State of Washington wanted to up the ante on well-being benefits for its more than 270,000 state employees, it turned to Limeade. Limeade worked with Washington’s Health Care Authority (HCA) to launch SmartHealth, an online well-being program for state employees and their families. Employee testimonials show the implementation of SmartHealth made a difference in the State of Washington’s employee experience strategy.
“I’ve been involved in a lot of health and wellness programs over the years and nothing is like SmartHealth,” says Cathie Browning, a State of Washington employee. “I feel it’s a clear indication the state is focused on telling people that we want you to stay, and we’re trying to engage you.”
Browning adds: “SmartHealth has a wealth of options, which other programs that I’ve experienced in the past do not. You have education about all sorts of topics like nutrition, wellness, or how to be happier. You also have classes where you learn more about specific issues of nutrition and how your body metabolizes different sorts of foods.”
Good work on the part of the team at Limeade.
Bravo Wellness uses data-backed solutions to promote employee wellness
With data-based solutions and insights, Bravo Health takes a numbers-backed approach to employee wellness. This work earned Bravo a place on Ragan’s Workplace Wellness Hot List
Bravo Wellness believes you need evidence-based solutions to see results. They bring this data-backed approach to their employee wellness programs, which engage employees typically hard to reach and measurably improve their health.
The team at Bravo Wellness handles everything for the organizations that choose to work with them. This includes marketing the program to workers and tech support.
“Our goal is to remove the work from your team’s shoulders,” the Bravo website reads. “That’s why we have a team dedicated to keeping your program on track. We provide a clear timeline with milestones and regular calls for status updates, proactive escalation of issues with solutions, and insights to help you make better-informed decisions.”
Data is a central part of Bravo’s offerings. The company offers not only biometric data, it also sections and analyzes the data it collects. From wellness incentives and health coaching to health screenings and employee engagement programs, Bravo’s wellness solutions are comprehensive. Bravo also integrates with companies’ existing health benefits and wellness programs, making it easy for employees to learn the software and create healthy habits.
In a five-year study of Bravo’s manufacturing industry clients, 81% of participants maintained their health or reduced health risk. In the same timeframe, employees shed a total of 65,420 pounds and 18% of employees smokers quit.
“As a facility manager participates in the wellness program, I highly encouraged all associates to sign up and attend the screenings,” said David W., a manufacturing manager and Bravo program participant. “We had a great turnout and the vibe of being health conscious extended throughout the plant. I appreciate that the Bravo wellness program brings this important topic to our attention.”
Congratulations to the Bravo Wellness team.
Cariloop is on a mission to relieve the stress and anxiety felt by all caregivers
Employee caregivers face countless considerations when making decisions regarding the care of their loved ones. Health and wellness company Cariloop’s mission is to support caregivers by providing the world’s first human-powered Caregiver Support Platform. It helps them plan and manage the care of their loved ones. Cariloop’s efforts have earned a spot in Ragan’s Workplace Wellness Hot List Awards in the Child Care/Elder Care Benefits category.
Approximately 73% of employees are caregivers and spend an average of 24 hours per week on caregiving responsibilities including making decisions about the care of those they love. From understanding costs of care to vetting care providers to ensuring state-specific forms are in order, the challenges can seem endless. Employee caregivers need someone to go on the care journey with them — someone to be in their corner as they navigate the ongoing unknowns and challenges.
Founded in 2012, Cariloop provides the world’s first human-powered Caregiver Support Platform to help working caregivers and families plan for and manage the care of their loved ones. The Platform pairs caregivers with a dedicated, experienced Care Coach who guides families through the many decisions they make over the length of their caregiving journey, all while collaborating on a digital care portal that helps families securely communicate across all their devices and store important health, financial and legal documents.
The needs of employee caregivers are far too great for transactional services to be enough and far too varied and nuanced to allow for point solutions for each need that comes up. Having the support of experienced care professionals to help navigate the complex needs of each individual employee caregiver is what separates Cariloop’s Care Coaches from other services in the industry.
The Care Coaching team is made up of a diverse range of care professionals including nurses, social workers, facility administrators, educators, pediatric specialists and more. The collaboration and responsiveness of this holistic team of care professionals ensure employees get the support they need in any caregiving situation, and no question is too small. Ultimately, the Care Coaches shoulder the load of caregiving tasks so employees can stress less and remain present at work and at home.
To ensure integrity, Cariloop does not accept referral fees from providers the Care Coaches recommend. It also does not limit access to services based on eligibility criteria. The company also supports employees with the care of whoever they consider family, acknowledging the reality that employees often have many people in their lives who count on them outside of immediate familial relations.
Congratulations to the Cariloop team!

In addition, participants will receive recommended goals and activities and can track progress toward these goals. Benefits can be accessed by browser or mobile app on their device of choice.

Coveo helps organizations find internal information faster through an AI-powered enterprise search solution
The accelerated transition to remote and hybrid work has imposed a new type of information overload on knowledge workers. Most alarming of all is its impact on employees’ well-being. Coveo’s search solution uses machine learning to ensure employees can find what they need now — and beyond. This earned them recognition in Ragan’s Workplace Wellness Hot List Awards in the Tools & Technologies for a Distributed Workforce category.
Today’s digital workplace is an increasingly complex matrix of tools and applications. Sixty percent of people surveyed by software-as-a-service developer Coveo require four or more applications to get their work done daily, while 15% require seven or more. These employees waste an increasing amount of time sifting through irrelevant information just to find what they require.
Because of the increasing digital workspace, 31% of those surveyed reported feeling burned out from data-finding frustrations, and 16% said they were ready to quit as a result — making it one of the lesser-known factors driving workers to leave their employers.
Coveo’s AI-powered enterprise search solution alleviates this problem by making company information easier to find. It brings all company knowledge into one search index and enables the delivery of that knowledge almost anywhere within the digital workplace. This provides more relevant search results and content recommendations, boosting proficiency.
By streamlining and simplifying the digital workplace, Coveo has had the following outcomes for clients:
What sets the Coveo solution apart is the personalized knowledge discovery tailored to each employee, based on their role, location and previous interactions across the workplace. That’s how it filters out the noise to give employees just what they need. It gives them respite from the onslaught of information due to messaging apps, emails, video calls, intranets and various SaaS applications.
Coveo is also unique in its ability to bring this personalized knowledge experience into the tools employees are already using, via native integrations with platforms like Salesforce, ServiceNow, Google Chrome and various off-the-shelf intranet products. This creates a holistic, connected experience across the digital workplace, helping employees to feel “at home” wherever they’re working.
Going forward, Coveo will continue to innovate with connectors and integrations that can bring knowledge into employees’ workflow, saving them time and reducing frustration.
Congratulations to the Coveo team and their AI-powered search.

Active furniture infuses the workday with energy and choice in a way that naturally enhances productivity and makes the best use of technology. The adaptable design of TRACE encourages regular movement and an ergonomic fit to improve overall well-being.
Beyond physical well-being, TRACE supports overall mental health. With anxiety and depression on the rise due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s more important than ever to create low-stress, organized workspaces that enable productivity and a peaceful workday.

meQuilibrium works with employers, health plans, wellness providers and individual consumers to increase engagement, productivity and performance while improving the ability to manage stress, health and well-being.
The value and innovation that meQuilibrium brings to the future of the workforce well-being industry, and to human resources (HR) generally, is to demonstrate in real-time, during crises and a world of ongoing disruption, the critical importance of predictive workforce well-being.
The company leverages analytics on a strong agile technology platform, capable of delivering critical data insights to managers, and delivering support to the right employee at the right time at global scale. Well-being and talent management used to be distinct disciplines within HR, but forces including COVID-19 and the acceleration of the future of work, have created a convergence.
Ongoing disruption and trauma have huge implications for workforce management and have made employers realize that workforce performance and well-being are integrated, interdependent and essential. But many organizations have realized they have no tools to assess and mitigate the impact of crisis and disruption on their workforce and the accompanying risks to well-being and agility.
With well-being and talent management completely interdependent, meQuilibrium’s solution uniquely addresses this intersection. The nature of building resilience, at the individual and organizational level, serves as both primary prevention for behavioral health risks as well as preparation for the workforce to see opportunity in change and be agile and adaptable.
All of these forces have made meQuilibrium a premier digital solution for building resilient well-being at scale for Fortune 500 global enterprises, helping businesses innovate and navigate uncertain times.
meQuilibrium has experienced over 50% revenue growth annually and is available globally to over 2.3 million employees in over 70 enterprises. meQuilibrium has been named as the 2021 Best SaaS product for HR, to the Inc. 5000 list three years in a row and has been honored with numerous other awards, including Deloitte’s North America Technology Fast 500 Award three years in a row.
And now the company can add Ragan to its list of awards.
The innovation that meQuilibrium delivers to its customers, and the gap in the market it fills, is the ability to predict workforce risk, immediately deliver protective and critical skills and provide employers with population data insights allowing them to manage people risks. meQuilibrium’s intelligent cloud-based system, both mitigates the negative impacts of stress on an individual basis at scale and builds agile workforce populations capable of thriving in change.
Kudos to meQuilibrium!

A company that delivers leading programs in total well-being, learning and development, and recognition programs to employees and their families is being recognized for Tools & Technologies for a Distributed Workforce and Employee Engagement Technology & Measurement Solutions in Ragan’s Workplace Wellness Hot List Awards.
Proofpoint has worked diligently and proactively like many other companies facing pandemic challenges in order to build a collaborative and engaged workplace, where all employees have an opportunity to do their best work.
Human resources (HR) took the lead in addressing those challenges during the global health crisis and ushered in the Espresa employee engagement platform, which allowed the company to quickly expand programs to support its U.S. and global employees who were forced to work from home.
Now in a permanent hybrid work environment, Proofpoint offers a variety of localized benefits for both the individual and their family, employer-paid life, disability and employee assistance programs and global programs for employees’ physical, mental and financial health.
Also through Espresa, Proofpoint offers a robust peer recognition program. The portal, dubbed “P.R.O.P.S.,” or Proofpoint Recognition of Peer Success, encourages employees to recognize each other by exemplifying Proofpoint’s cultural tenets. Employees can also scroll through the feed and celebrate each other’s recognition by “liking” and commenting on posts.
Since launching in Q3 2021, the platform has enabled nearly 400 recognitions of deserving team members.
At the close of 2021, the company announced the launch of its inaugural nine Employee Inclusion Groups (EIGs). All regular employees are invited to join Proofpoint EIGs as Members; persons who self-identify with the background and characteristics of the EIG or as Allies; those who don’t self-identify with the EIG but support that EIG and want to learn more.
Housed on Espresa, Proofpoint’s EIGs are 100% employee driven and are formally recognized and integrated into the fabric of the company through a myriad of ways including executive sponsorship, semiannual progress updates to Proofpoint’s e-staff, and an ongoing partnership between EIG chairs and the DEI team to ensure alignment between EIG initiatives and global, company-wide DEI goals.
In 2020 and 2021, Espresa, Inc. presented the Culture Benefits® Award for Innovation and Excellence to Proofpoint.
Ragan is proud to recognize Proofpoint for its commitment to employee engagement and tools and technologies by using an employee engagement platform to establish a collaborative and engaging workplace during times of uncertainty and beyond. Also, the same platform was used to encourage dialogue and support between employees, uplift team members and receive updates on the nine Employee Inclusion Groups and their inner workings within the company.
Congratulations to Proofpoint!
Sprout’s health library helps change employees’ lives
Sprout’s Sprout at Work program allows employees access to hundreds of health– and exercise-focused videos and resources. This and other features earned Sprout a spot on Ragan’s Workplace Wellness Hot List.
Build, boost and attract. These are the three words that make up the foundation of Sprout at Work’s employee wellness and engagement platform.
The Sprout products are designed with cognitive behavioral science in mind, using the COMB-B behavior model to accomplish goals like employee engagement and retention. The Sprout at Work program provides users with unlimited access to a library of health information and integrates with common wearable health tracking devices to assess real-time risk factors using biometric data.
“Sprout was founded in 2012 by Martha Switzer and Christina Ford with the mission to create a digital platform that made well-being more accessible to today’s workforce with clear tools and features,” the Sprout website says. “They could see that employee burnout was on the rise, and the physical and mental toll meant employees could not reach their full productive potential. Today, Sprout is a leading global corporate health and wellness platform, powering health and wellness for clients across a wide range of industries around the world.”
One example is Michele Angelo, a third shift worker in a distribution center. She says watching a 10-minute video on Sprout changed her life. She described her lifestyle as unhealthy, with limited exercise and a diet of junk food.
“I saw other family members who struggled with diabetes,” she says. I watched as some of them lost limbs such as toes, fingers and legs and wouldn’t make any effort to make changes. I didn’t want to go through that. That’s when I realized that there is so much more you can do to help yourself.”
When she committed to following a 60/70 workout video, just ten minutes long, from Sprout’s Sprout at Work program, she quickly realized how much more she could be doing to change her lifestyle. She dropped two pant sizes in just three weeks using the video.
“The videos are easy and short. They are not hard and are low-impact workouts,” she says. “You don’t need weights because you’re using your body muscles and each video targets special areas of focus. The team stretches at work also help to make a great impact on my workout as well, which is important to the overall health of my body and joints.”
Congratulations to the Sprout team.
Verdant Consulting launches app to help teams beat burnout and find psychological safety through ‘nano-learning’
Based on the lived experiences of its founder and workforce, the wellness firm managed to deliver its resiliency model and training program through an app that aims to help teams thrive and flourish, wherever they work. This led to recognition in the Stress Management Services category of Ragan’s Workplace Wellness Hot List.
Though Verdant Consulting originally began as focused change management and leadership coaching, its purpose changed when the toll that emotional exhaustion and stress took on its employees and leaders became too much. Its founder, Dr. Allessandria Polizzi, had reached a breaking point herself following a depression diagnosis in 2021 that prompted her to rethink what Verdant stood for. Polizzi understood the value of resiliency training, but also saw how the current landscape of web apps and self-paced programs saw low employee usage and engagement.
Her recovery from burnout was the catalyst for Verdant’s resiliency program, which incorporates a resiliency, emotional agility, burnout prevention and psychological safety training approach to help teams beat burnout. The program’s lessons incorporate neuroscience and behavior therapy in the form of personalized ‘nano-learning’ refreshers that engage learners through an interactive experience.
Verdant’s program considers itself different from others on the market because it begins by explaining the science behind the stress and holds each user’s hand as they understand how to reprogram their brains. It helps them develop a deeper understanding of how their thoughts and feelings influence their behaviors.
Following an instructional “learn-personalize-apply-synthesize” method, the app creates participation by giving users the means to personalize their learnings based on how they experience and respond to stress. Its focus on reflection, along with its discussion forums, creates spaces for social learning and dialogue that foster psychological safety.
The program launched in July 2021 and has seen 100% customer growth. Verdant also measures its growth in impact, and app users have reported several positive outcomes including an improved ability to manage emotions, more clarity around values and goals in decision-making and emotional reactions, and decreased absences due to stress or job turnover. Users have also reported more recognition of the factors that cause burnout and how to address them.
Other numbers continue to prove the growth of Verdant’s resiliency program:

Vida Health introduces Spanish language support and increases therapy consults by over 8000%
The virtual care platform listened to the advice of a client and introduced support for Spanish speakers to earn an over 8030% increase in the number of therapy consults from April 2020 to Oct 2021. The effort is our winner for Mental Health Solution Programs, Stress Management Services and Telehealth Services at Ragan’s Workplace Wellness Hot List Awards.
For Vida Health, effectively supporting user well-being includes an understanding that effective virtual chronic care requires a holistic approach that addresses the mind and the body simultaneously — whether treating depression or diabetes. That’s why the team comprises evidence-based programs that gauge success based on outcomes and move away from healthcare’s traditional fee-for-service model to help health plan clients encourage enrollment, measure the success of their initiatives and save money.
In early 2020 one of Vida Health’s largest payer clients, managed care organization Centene, told Vida Health that it wanted a Spanish expansion of its platform to serve its Spanish-speaking members in Florida and Texas. While Vida Health had vague plans to offer Spanish-language support, Centene’s request empowered Vida Health with the purpose to set a deadline to develop and launch the product quickly. A few months after the ask, Vida Health was ready with a Spanish-language solution that allows Spanish-speaking members to fully engage with the platform’s coaches, therapists and dieticians — completely in Spanish.
Over the last 18 months, 98% of members agreed or strongly agreed that they were working with a coach or therapist who understood and respected them, while the same percentage felt that the things discussed were important to them. Other numbers continue to prove the success of Vida Health’s virtual programs and services:
Congratulations to the Vida Health team.
Virgin Pulse’s Homebase for Health suite makes benefits and wellness accessible and understandable
Virgin Pulse’s Homebase for Health unifies the employee wellness and benefits experience with a rich suite of tools, including VP Navigate for easy-to-access benefits and VP Transform for real-time instruction from health coaches. That earned Virgin Pulse recognition in the Benefits Management Technology, Employee Engagement Technology & Measurement Solutions and Lifestyle Coaching categories of Ragan’s Workplace Wellness Hot List.
In the wake of the pandemic, companies are offering a richer slate of employee benefits than ever before, from traditional health and retirement options to wellness and more. However, this overwhelming selection can create confusion for workers and frustration from employers due to low adoption rates.
Virgin Pulse responded with its VP Navigate tool, integrated as part of their Homebase for Health ecosystem. While Homebase for Health uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) learning to tailor wellness experiences for each individual’s needs, VP Navigate puts benefits all in one place so employees can easily take advantage of all their employer’s offers.
In addition, live benefits support helps employees in real-time. And on-request program analytics helps HR professionals make the most of their spending. As a result, VP Navigate offers clarity to both employers and employees in today’s confusing benefits marketplace.
And while benefits are a critical part of the health equation, encouraging an overall healthier lifestyle and preventing or managing chronic conditions is also key to overall employee happiness, productivity and the employer’s health care costs. Virgin Pulse’s VP Transform, also part of Homebase for Health, helps at-risk employee members embark on a 12-month journey to encourage sustainable behavior change leading to real results in preventing prediabetes and weight management. VP Transform’s addition of lifestyle coaching offers members an evidence-based curriculum, as well as equipment like a blood pressure cuff, scale and activity tracker combined with an app offering behavior-tracking tools, peer support channels, and access to a health coach.
The health coaches provide individual feedback and guidance through one-on-one sessions, including weekly sessions via phone, app, email or text. And employees get quality time, too: VP Transform members get 150 to 300% more time with their coaches than competitors.
Congratulations to Virgin Pulse on raising the game on employee health and benefits experiences.
WebMD Health puts a focus on social connection as a core function of wellness
Loneliness can have a profound impact on well-being and productivity. Small reminders and opportunities to connect can make big differences, as WebMD Health demonstrated through its Community, Stay Connected Plan and Group Coaching features that keep coworkers engaged on their health journeys. Good work team for earning recognition in the Employee Engagement Technology & Measurement Solutions, Mental Health Solution Programs and Tools & Technologies for a Distributed Workforce categories of Ragan’s Workplace Wellness Hot List.
One of the most profound effects of the pandemic and the ensuing rise of hybrid or fully remote work is loneliness. Many of us found ourselves isolated from everyone from family to coworkers as we sought first to evade illness and then to forge a new way of working.
This is a serious problem in the workplace. A 2020 Cigna study reported that those who do not have strong relationships with their coworkers relate higher levels of loneliness and are more likely to miss work due to stress, illness and more.
WebMD Health rolled out a suite of products designed to help foster meaningful connections, even when we aren’t in the same room as our coworkers.
WebMD ONE’s Community helps participants with their physical and mental well-being, while also helping to forge social connections and accountability. Members join groups based on interests and goals such as exercise, sleep or social connectedness, where they can encourage others, share their stories and struggles, and succeed together.
The Stay Connected Plan also gently reminds users of the importance of even small social interactions, through prompts urging them to speak with a friend, coworker or family member today. In addition, Group Coaching sessions led by a certified health coach offer support and expert recommendations while still allowing participants to interact, ask specific questions and guide the agenda.
Big kudos to the WebMD Health team for making us all feel more connected, even when we’re far apart.

The company reached out to Wellworks For You for a solution.”
Wellworks describes it as a high-impact program that saw improved health results. Among this organization’s employees:
“Thanks to Wellworks, I have accomplished every one of my goals over the last 2 years,” said one of the healthcare delivery system’s employees. “By setting small goals, I’ve grown in my hobbies, exercise, time management, and stress reduction.”
