The latest jobs in the PR and marketing world
Networking is often the key to communications success. PR pros seeking work should use their connections to get ahead. This list of positions can help.
Most PR pros are inherently social.
When looking for new professional opportunities, career seekers are putting that skill to the test, according to a LinkedIn report. To find work, more pros are turning to their online professional networks and personal connections, data show.
“Almost four in 10 professionals are researching new jobs and networking every month, even though only 30 percent are actively looking for a new job,” the report states. “Fifty percent of professionals go first to friends and colleagues to discover new opportunities.”
Although online job boards (60 percent) were ranked first among channels that job seekers use, social media networks (56 percent) and word-of-mouth (50 percent) weren’t far behind. Twenty-three percent said they use professional groups.
The next time you see an invitation for a networking event in your inbox, or you’re tempted to stop by a colleague’s retirement party, the report says to go for it.
