30 jobs in the PR and marketing world
This week’s featured jobs include everything from boutique agencies to large corporations.
A recent Pew Research Center analysis found that three in 10 U.S. jobs are held by the self-employed and the workers they hire.
This statistic isn’t difficult to believe if you network in public relations and marketing circles. These industries are filled with self-starters who often begin their careers working in corporate, government or nonprofit PR before striking out on their own.
About one in four agency owners has at least one paid employee, according to the Pew analysis. Self-employed workers with employees have an average of about eight employees.
There are lots of opportunities in working for a smaller PR agency. The chances are good that you’ll get a great deal of hands-on experience in a short time because there are fewer people to do the work. You’ll probably have more contact with the CEO than you would at a larger agency, and that can give you valuable insight.
If you’re interested in continuing your career with a boutique PR agency, consider this week’s featured job: PR specialist at C Squared Advertising.
The ideal candidate for this job should be a strong writer, a good storyteller and an adept builder of relationships.
