Infographic: The ideal length of online content
What’s the optimal length of a blog headline? How many characters do the most successful email subject lines have? This infographic has the answers, as well as the best lengths for other types of online content.
Good communicators know the best content is as succinct as possible.
To quote an infographic from SumAll and Buffer, “Every piece of content should be as long as it takes to convey the message and no longer.”
The infographic, titled “The ideal length of everything online,” details how long online content should be. Here are some examples:
Facebook: 40 characters. Posts with 40 characters receive 86 percent more engagement than posts with more than that amount.
Blog headlines: 6 words. People tend to only read the first and last three words of a headline.
