Verne Global curates content to raise its industry profile
The green data company’s website covers the industry, drives business, and garners media mentions.
Lisa Rhodes, vice president of sales and marketing at the green data center company Verne Global, was at a contract-signing with the CEO and chief marketing officer of a client firm.
As they were wrapping up business, she recalls, the CMO said, “By the way, have you ever heard of this site called Green Data Center News? It is just the best.”
Rhodes laughed and said, “Yeah, I actually know it pretty well.”
She ought to. Every day, Rhodes spends 45 minutes going through curated stories to create the Web report, which surveys an industry in which Verne Global is drawing attention.
The London-based company is about to open a data center in Iceland, proving that massive cloud operations don’t have to be major CO2 producers. Iceland’s climate is chilly enough that air conditioning isn’t required to cool the heat-producing computer banks. And renewable energy is plentiful, saving on electricity costs.
