When is it appropriate for communicators to shock an audience into paying attention?
By now, many of you have seen the new ads celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month. They depict men gawking at well endowed women, as if to say, “Hey guys, if you don’t want to lose this revered part of the female anatomy, then start paying attention. Now!”
When we last saw the breast revealed, the nation seemed to lose its collective mind. Who remembers Janet Jackson’s wardrobe malfunction a few years back. Will America’s obsession with prudity likewise lead to an eruption of outrage over these new ads?
