Loyal Bush speechwriters: Forbes.com columnist Peter Robinson profiles the speechwriters who worked for George W. Bush, and who did a yeoman’s job of sticking with the president even as his approval ratings plummeted.

“Why, then, have they remained at the White House?” asks Robinson. “These eight speechwriters understand that for the rest of their lives knowledgeable Americans will be grateful to them for helping keep the office functioning, giving this administration the coherence that only the carefully considered use of language—only good writing—can confer.” Okay, then.
