How AI can help communicators rethink employee experience
When responsibly applied, AI can complement the human touch.
On the surface, the mention of AI might raise concerns among employees. But when it’s deployed responsibly, generative AI can be a major help for communicators looking to build a more engaging employee experience.
At Ragan’s 2024 Internal Communications Conference, Lisa Worthington, senior director of internal communications and platforms at T-Mobile and Allison Michels, senior program manager for Viva Engage at Microsoft, discussed how AI stands to help communicators move from idle content viewership to real engagement and that drives behaviors. But in some cases, comms pros will need to give employees a little nudge to take small steps forward.
“Adoption isn’t about doing everything at once,” Michels said, “Start small, test tools, and get feedback. Employees will adopt AI when they see how it helps them, whether it’s finding information faster or saving time.”
