Helpful strategies for before, during, and after election season.
The dust has settled after the big election last week, and even as our divisive political climate continues, time for effective workplace communication doesn’t slow down. In a world of work with many diverse perspectives, it’s key for communicators to take a step back and ensure that their messaging lines up with their organizational values.
During Ragan’s 2024 Internal Communications Conference, Dr. Kalahn Taylor-Clark, Ph.D., vice president and head of social business innovation at Merck Pharmaceuticals and Jason McCree, executive director of executive communications at Merck Pharmaceuticals discussed the fact that in divisive political environments, sticking to company values should steer the ship.
“You’re never going to please everyone, but staying true to the company’s values is the priority,” McCree said.
