Derrick Lesnau
Interim CEO - Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas
Derrick Lesnau is currently serving as the Interim CEO at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas. He has served this Central Texas nonprofit since 2006 and continues to help grow the organization to meet the needs of Central Texas children and families.
Derrick moved to Austin in 1999 to attend The University of Texas at Austin where he graduated with a Bachelor’s of Social Work. Mr. Lesnau was a member of the Young Men’s Business League and Young Texans Against Cancer organization and has been a volunteer at several Austin area nonprofit organizations. He was a founding charter member of the Austin Young Chamber, is a graduate of the 2013 class of the Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership and Management program at ACC and is a member of the 2017 Leadership Austin Essentials class. Mr. Lesnau served on the City of Austin Resource Management Commission from 2017 to 2019, representing District 1. Derrick was also selected as a finalist in the Austin Under 40 Awards for 2 consecutive years in 2018 and 2019 for Nonprofit Service.
Mr. Lesnau has been a speaker and panelist at several Ronald McDonald House Charities Global and Regional conferences and continues to serve in various leadership roles within the Ronald McDonald House Charities system and Central Texas nonprofit community. He and his wife live in northeast Austin and enjoy rooting for Austin FC and attending all the live music shows they can manage.
