The workplace wellness industry pivots in new directions as it tackles multiple priorities in 2021
Employee morale is a top area of concern, but wellness pros know that morale depends on many things, including engagement, mental and financial health, DE&I, return-to-work, and much more. The challenge is how to move forward on all of it at once.
Employee morale, under severe pressure on multiple fronts for more than a year, ranks as the most pressing area of attention for wellness professionals and their colleagues, according to new exclusive data from Workplace Wellness Insider.
Even in an era chock full of workplace well-being priorities, morale tops the rankings. And no wonder. The strains of economic insecurity, isolation, overwork, unrest and political strife, as well as juggling personal and professional responsibilities, has created a mental-health crisis and an epidemic of burnout and stress, numerous studies indicate.
But morale isn’t the only area of concern for crisis-challenged wellness professionals and their allies.
Return-to-work protocols, flexible work hours, and establishing a positive workplace culture were among the variety of other areas of focus, according to the research, with no single area being cited by more than 19% of the respondents as a number-one concern.
