Josh Zembik

An award-winning public relations professional with proven leadership in strategic planning, crisis and campaign messaging, and digital media, Josh Zembik has worked in public relations and journalism for nearly 20 years. Based in Chicago, he is the director of media at the American Medical Association. A veteran of Capitol Hill, Josh served as communications director for Sen. Richard Blumenthal and Rep. Joe Courtney and deputy press secretary to Sens. Joe Biden and Max Cleland. He has led successful messaging campaigns on health system reform, gun violence, domestic violence, veterans issues, and spearheaded numerous product announcements. He has spent most of 2020 working on COVID-related issues, including PPE, vaccine development, health equity, and promoting science and data in the battle against the virus.
